Structure

• The mode of delivery is classroom learning. It integrates both theoretical and practical educational approaches including lectures, tutorials, case study discussions, projects, syndicate work, as well as face-to-face consultative sessions with supervisors for the final-year project.
• This programme is taught by faculty from RMIT University, as well as local academics and industry practitioners.

• The average teacher:student ratio is 1:13. 
• For modules taught by RMIT teaching faculty, classes are conducted on an intensive mode: lectures are scheduled over 1 to 2 weeks, 4 to 5 times a week.

Assessment & Attendance

• Assessment components vary from module to module. Students are normally assessed by continuous assessments in the form of mid-term class tests, individual and group assignments or projects, case studies, discussion and class presentations.  

• Some modules have a final examination at end of semester. The examinations are held from end April to early May for the semester commencing in January, and in end October to early November for the semester commencing in July. The examinations are scheduled on weekdays and Saturdays, in the morning and afternoon. 

• Students are allowed to repeat a module once only. For modules with pre-requisites, students are required to pass the pre-requisites before undertaking the modules. 

• Attendance requirement for part-time (local) students: 75% 

Requirements to Graduate

• Students will be considered for the award of Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) (Honours) when they have satisfactorily completed all academic requirements of the programme as detailed in the programme structure. 

• In addition, there are merit awards which recognise the special achievement of students who lead the overall performance of their intake cohort. 

• A degree conferral ceremony is held in August or September each year in Singapore.

Accepted Entry Qualifications

Applicants with Diploma in Building or related disciplines from a recognised institution and a good command of English, including the ability to communicate ideas in writing and verbal discussion are eligible to apply.

All other relevant qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

English Language Requirements

Applicants who have achieved one of the following qualifications/studies, where English is the language of teaching and assessment no more than two years prior to the RMIT program commencement date (unless otherwise advised), will meet the English language entry criteria to the program(s):

• GCE ‘A’ levels at a Singaporean high school with
  • Minimum C or better in General Paper at AS / H1 Level; or 
  • Minimum C grade in H2 subject (excluding language subjects and Mathematics and Music) for A level English – Singapore H2 (previously known as “A level” subject); or

Programme Fees 

S$26,683.20 for 12 modules (144 credit points), payable over 5 semesters

• Per Credit Point fee: S$185.30 (inclusive of prevailing GST) (Amount reflected is rounded to the nearest cents). Fees are valid for Jul 2024 intake only.
• Above fees exclude textbooks
• First semester fees payable upon acceptance of offer. Subsequent semester fees payable before commencement of semester.
